Interview with Iam, a volunteer of Faith Angels Ministry

Iam Tugumisirize, 34 years old, is a social worker and accountant by profession. He holds a diploma in project planning and management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He loves to help other people, learning new things, reading newspapers, watching films and watching and playing sports like football, volleyball and badminton.
Hi Iam! Thank you for participating in this interview. I would like to ask you some questions, so your supporters get a chance to know you and your work better. To start, can you please tell us what motivated you to become a volunteer in Faith Angels Ministry?
Of course! Many things motivated me. First, Faith Angels Ministry it’s a local community school supporting education of most vulnerable children in Rural communities of Rubanda and Kabale in south Western Uganda. Thus this fitted best in my daily work plans and future dreams for the African Child suffering today to have a smile tomorrow and better future.
Secondly, because the founders are cooperative with integrity, honesty and found accoundiv.
Thirdly, the school management and founders was found Gods fearing

What is your role while volunteering at Faith Angels Ministry?
My roles in Faith Angels Ministry are varied. Manly, I take care of the following:
・Integration of school programs to future prospects for schools infrastructural development
・Mobilize support for both teaching staff and school pupils as in teaching aids and scholastic materials.
・Mobilize and fundraise for basic needs of pupils studying at Faith Angels ministry.
・Emphasize teamwork and do proper networking for the entire school to the outside environment.
・Act as liaison officer to potential supporters of the school and Pupils with their parents create a good positive picture in surrounding community.
Which qualities should have a volunteer at Faith Angels Ministry?
The school management has a school code of conduct for various staff like for Volunteers and other staff. The code of conduct makes sure that all volunteers should positively contribute to the wellbeing of the school projected plans.

What were your expectations before you started volunteering?
I wanted to mobilize and support most vulnerable children to have sponsorship, balanced dietary food during Lunch times and fundraise for permanent classroom block with reasonable staff office.
Have those expectations been fulfilled?
Not yet. So far, the fulfilled one was the acquisition of a small water tank at school, but I still have many more objectives to achieve, especially about helping the most vulnerable children at Faith Angels Ministry to get sponsorship.
Have you faced any challenging situation so far?
Yes, I have, for instance the lack of necessary support most vulnerable children required, especially school fees and food. Most children I interact with are vulnerable in the fact that their families cannot afford two to three meals a day but I love to educate their children.
What keeps you motivated on tough days?
The ability to save lives of my fellows. My skills and experience which I believe I possess and ability to influence change while dealing with marginalized vulnerable people especially orphans and vulnerable children, motivate me to inspire the young generation believe in themselves as I do, because I was once among the most vulnerable street children, but God helped me through people who love same work as I do now for Faith Angels primary school Children.
Do you have any other thoughts that you’d like to share with us?
Of course. I hope that we can keep cooperating together, so our mission in Faith Angels primary school spreads to many donors and funders, so we can get school fees sponsorship, Infrastructural development and Human Resource fundraising for continual sustainability of our projects. Thank you very much!
